Could Shopify Be Shopifly?

We figured we’d go ahead and try Shopify even though it seemed to primarily target retail businesses. The fact that our marketing agency is completely service-oriented and does a majority, if not all, of its work for clients in an environment that’s completely digital should put us at a disadvantage on a platform geared towards selling physical products that shoppers can touch and look at before they make the decision to buy. Although most businesses that provide services to customers seem to be staying away from Shopify, we happen to see a lot of potential in a website like this, especially for service-oriented companies that can get a little creative. Luckily, one of our strongest assets is our ability to develop creative marketing strategies that produce results in difficult markets…so we’re giving this one a try.

So Much Potential…

The more we explore Shopify, the more we’re seeing that there are less obvious aspects of their services that have potential to add huge amounts of value (and cash-money profit) to businesses that don’t sell physical products. The more we think about what we can accomplish with a little bit of tweaking through an e-commerce platform like this, the more excited we get about the whole thing. It’s funny how everything is literally right there, you just have to look at the site from a different perspective and evaluate the site as a while, not just sales potential. Ok, we’re clocking out on this one before we give something away. We’ll finish this post off with a short quote/riddle/clue, however you want to interpret it…
